John M. Surgent, CPA

John M. Surgent, CPA, is managing member of Surgent McCoy CPE, LLC. His company is the largest provider of tax and financial-planning seminars to CPAs in the United States. By year-end, his business will have presented over 2,000 live seminars in 49 states.

Mr. Surgent has personally presented over 1,500 live seminars in the past 22 years and has been named Outstanding Discussion Leader by various professional organizations. His down-to-earth, practical approach clearly emphasizes ways in which professionals can satisfy their clients' needs and maximize their incomes. Mr. Surgent also manages a 30-person CPA firm specializing in taxation and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses.

Mr. Surgent has worked in the tax department of a Big Four accounting firm and was an assistant professor at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Villanova University and a master's in taxation from Villanova University School of Law.
