Barbara S. Dwyer, CPA

Barbara S. Dwyer, CPA, is a sole practitioner in New York. She has worked in public accounting for over 30 years. Her practice, which has been established for 19 years, is a general practice servicing small closely held businesses, nonprofit audits, individual taxation and planning issues, and estate and financial planning.

Ms. Dwyer has been a member of the Board of Directors of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), has served as Vice President of Chapters and on the Executive Committee, served six years as a member of the PAC Committee for the New York Society of CPAs, and one year as president. She was also a prior president for the Adirondack Chapter of the NYSSCPA and currently serves as Chapter Secretary. She is currently serving on The Professional Ethics Committee of the NYSSCPA and an Ethics Technical Subcommittee of the AICPA.

Ms. Dwyer’s prior experience includes working for a regional accounting firm whose practice focused on Canadian subsidiary manufacturing companies with transborder accounting and tax issues. She received her bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College, and her master’s in business administration/accounting from the University of Vermont.
